This song from the movie Jillendru Oru Kadhal is one of the best songs Rehman has sung. This song for some reason reminds me of the MJ hit “Stranger in Moscow” . Notice the use of sirens in the background which is typical of NY city. Rehman has used the humming piece very effectively and the chorus in the background creates the needed effect. The Saxaphone piece in the end is also the right instrument to depict the mood of the song. The lyrics are awesome as well.
HERE

What is AJAX?
Asynchronous JavaScript and XML
Ajax is a technology that complements Web 2.0 and the integration of many web s

ervices
The diagram sums up what Ajax does. Content1 and content2 are treated as separate entities. The user will be able to update content2 without modifying the state of content1 and vice versa. The aggregation of data is another key feature to be noted
The Ajax approach is fairly new—there really aren’t any established best practices or heuristics. However, standard Web design principles still apply. As time passes and more people experiment with this approach, we will find the limits and establish guidelines. The best approach to any web site design is to listen to the users. A cutting edge website is useful only if there regular visitors.
When should you AJAX?
Don’t waste time inventing new user interaction models that your users will be unfamiliar with. Borrow heavily from traditional web applications and desktop applications so there is a minimal learning curve With Ajax, the line between thick and thin is blurred, and the real winners are your users! It is important that the users of your website really accept any changes you make the site so remember, when in doubt, test with representative users!
Technical / Architectural challenges
Ajax is a client side technology just like Flash so it makes lot of sense to think twice before writing a single line of code. Poorly coded scripts can quickly spiral out of control, especially as volume increases. Put simply, don’t surprise your users. If your pre-Ajax application didn’t save the form when they tabbed off the last field, your post-Ajax application probably shouldn’t either
The data being transmitted between server and client should be minimal. The data structure hence has to be precise and should be as small as possible.
| Feature |
Flash |
Ajax |
| Browser Integration |
Flash Player plug-in required. Flash is limited to a predefined rectangular area of the browser. |
JavaScript natively supported by modern browsers. Simple interaction with any part of the browser. |
| Compatibility Issues |
Minor variations between versions of Flash. |
Major compatibility differences between browser versions. |
| CSS |
Limited support. |
Full Support (depending on browser). |
| Dynamic Content Generation |
Difficult. SWF is a pre-compiled closed format. Currently there is no language to describe SWFs. (Compare SVG, which is XML-based.) |
HTML can be written out using just about any kind of Server technology. Dynamic image generation is more difficult, but is possible on some platforms (like PHP). |
| Programming Model |
ActionScript 2.0 provides robust, java-like framework. |
JavaScript 2.0 not yet supported by any major browser. JS 1.5 not recommended for large OOP applications. |
| Raster (Bitmap) Graphics |
Load static images dynamically. Support for JPG, GIF and PNG. Bitmap manipulation. |
Load static images dynamically. |
| Regular Expressions |
Not supported natively by AS 2.0, but open-source solutions are available. |
Full support. |
| Server Integration |
Many solutions available. Flash can communicate with ASP, PHP, ASPX and many other types of server scripts. Commercial solutions, like Flash Remoting, are also available that provide live connections to a database. |
Limited. Can communicate dynamically with server using IFRAME trick or XMLHttpRequest Object. |
| Text |
Text API mimics some HTML functionality. |
Powerful layout capabilities. |
| Vector Graphics |
Full Support. |
None. |
| Video |
Dynamically load FLV video files or playback embedded videos. |
Supported only through external plug-ins (like Media Player). Multiple Video Formats can be loaded. |
| XML |
Full support. |
Not supported natively by JavaScript. |
It is obvious that Flash natively supports streaming audio and video; it can integrate audio and video content directly into its plug-in. It also has far more robust sets of out-of the-box user interface components than Ajax does (after all, Ajax is still working off the HTML Document Object Model).
Flash costs $700 for developers to get their hands on. Ajax requires only persistence, and notepad
Ajax just augments HTML so is more web spider friendly than Flash.DHTML pages will be much easier to download but then again it depends on the design of the page. The market trends clearly suggest that It is much easier to find HTML /JS developers than Flash developers. Ultimately the two technologies have very different profiles, and in many ways compliment each other, so both are likely to be quite important to web developers for the conceivable future.

A.R Rehaman is at his vintage best in this song from the movie Jillendru Oru Kadhal. Shreya Ghosal and Naresh Iyer provide the vocals. Naresh Iyer is very gentle and Shreya’s voice just flows with the music like they are inseperable. I am not sure if Shreya really understands every word she has uttered for this song but I think someone from Rehman’s group must have done thier job to perfection as Shreya is able to convey the right mood with her voice at diffrent stages of the song. This song is straight from the heart. The piano in the beginnning is another classic example of Rehman’s skill. The “Rangoli” chant will haunt you forever. The lyrics are well written as well

This is a simple but powerful movie about a simple man who overcame all odds to succeed in life.Based on a true story Chris Gardner (Will Smith) is a hard working man who has to sell scanners to better his family’s life . It is not your typical Hollywood movie as things don’t happen fast for Chris . The film beautifully depicts the hardship and suffering of a poor man who just won’t stop at anything .
Chris is forced to get shelter along with his son in the Men’s room and his wife even ditches him blaming him for their family’s sufferings. She is shown to be all happy with Chris before when things were good so much to say that the true love of a person will be revealed only when things start going astray. She loved him when she got what she wanted but makes life a living hell for Chris when he does not do what she thinks is best for him and the family. .
There are lot of amazing scenes in the movie . Chris’s son asks him ” did mom leave because of me ?” and Chris replies “mom left because of mom”. Another beautiful scene is when Chris tells his son that he can’t make it big in basketball but realizes immediately that he was wrong and tells him “Don’t let anyone tell you what you can do - not even me. People like to tell you that you can’t do something because they can’t. If you want something in this world, go out and get it…”
Will Smith delivers an all time best performance as Chris Gardner. Jaden Smith , his real life son plays the son who has utmost faith and trust in his father even when things hit rock bottom.
The only glitch to this highly inspiring movie is that the audience is never given an opportunity to see Chris succeed as the film ends abruptly.
Chris Gardner’s life is an inspiration to every hard working father in the world . Chris never gave up his toddler son in his pursuit of happyness. He was forced to go to jail and he still did not give up his son. He started at the bottom. . Amidst all the hardships he faced as a young man Chris drew inspiration from his mom and developed a die hard attitude to never give up . Chris loved his son more than anything and I believe that love propelled him to great heights. I personally believe that a bond between a parent and child is the purest of all relationships and i realize it every day when I see my daughter. Now I want to work more and more and give my daughter everything that i did not have when I was young. I also realized how hard it must have been for my parents to raise me and my brother and provide us with everything we ever needed.I might make mistakes but so did Chris and he still succeeded.

Cruel Training
For animals in circuses, there is no such thing as “positive reinforcement”—only varying degrees of punishment and deprivation. Animals do not voluntarily ride bicycles, stand on their heads, or jump through rings of fire. They don’t perform these and other difficult tricks because they want to; they perform because they’re afraid not to. For information about specific circuses, click here.
Circuses easily get away with routine abuse because no government agency monitors training sessions. Trainers use bullhooks, whips, sticks, electric prods, and other tools that intentionally cause pain and injury in order to force animals to perform. Undercover footage of behind-the-scenes training shows elephants beaten with bullhooks and shocked with electric prods, big cats dragged by heavy chains around their neck and hit with sticks, bears whacked and prodded with long poles, and chimpanzees kicked and hit with riding crops.
Constant Confinement
Ringling Bros. boasts that its two units travel more than 25,000 miles as they tour across the country for 11 months each year. Constant travel means that animals are confined to boxcars and trailers for days at a time in extremely hot and cold weather, often without access to basic necessities, such as food, water, and veterinary care.
Some elephants spend almost their whole lives shackled. One study of traveling circuses observed an elephant who spent up to 96 percent of her time in chains. Tigers and lions usually live and travel in cages 4 feet high by 7 feet long by 7 feet wide, with two big cats crammed into a single cage. Big cats, bears, and primates are forced to eat, drink, sleep, defecate, and urinate in the same cramped cages.
Public Danger
Frustrated by years of beatings, bullhooks, and shackles, some elephants snap. And when an elephant rebels against a trainer’s physical dominance, trainers cannot protect themselves, let alone the public.
In 1994, an elephant killed her trainer and injured 12 spectators before being gunned down by almost 100 bullets while running terrified through downtown Honolulu. In 1992, officer Blayne Doyle had to shoot Janet, an elephant who charged out of the Great American Circus arena with five children on her back. In speaking before members of Congress about the dangers of elephant rampages, Doyle lamented, “I have discovered, much to my alarm, that, once an elephant goes out of control, nothing can be done. It is not a predictable or preventable accident. The only thing that can be done—and even this is a danger to the public—is to get a battery of police officers in with heavy weapons and gun the elephant down.” Click here to read more about the risks of performing animal attacks.
Circus Bans
Because of concerns about animal mistreatment and public safety, a growing number of communities are banning or restricting the use of animals in circuses. Click here for a complete list.
Animal-Free Circuses
The Latest Shows on Earth—the Cirque du Soleil, the New Pickle Family Circus, Cirque Éloize, and others—are exciting and innovative circuses that dazzle audiences without animal acts. Click here for a list of animal-free circuses.

I was reminded of Chris Rock’s comment on one of his HBO shows where he was commenting on an circus event where a tiger bit the head of the performer (Roy Horn of the duo Siegfried & Roy). That tiger didn’t go crazy,” Rock says emphatically. “That tiger went tiger!” I went to circuses when I was young but if so much damage is done to the animals just to make us laugh I think I can only look at us (humans) in shame. But Yeah! there is this GOD guy so all will be forgiven if they (the humans responsible for these crimes and the humans who support them by watching animals perform) kiss his ass.

I have lot of respect for Ramesh Vinaygam. I really think he is one of those music directors with a lot of talent but never managed to make it to the top. This is a terrific song with excellent violin arrangements .Ramesh Vinaygam has sung the song himself ans he has enjoyed every bit of it. He has terrific depth in his voice and does full justice to the song.
I am mesmerized every time I hear this song . This song would have been a major hit if a popular actor had featured in the movie (Prassanna , the lead actor is famous now after some quality performances).

I used to work in the Mobile Communication Labs in HP a few years back . I remember how excited we all were developing applications for Mobile Phones. The projects were really diverse in nature ranging from providing billing solutions to developing a mobile portal. There was also a group focussing in aggregating web services - SOA as they call it now.
I believe that the cell phone is more powerful communication device than a TV or a computer simply because of the nature of the device . The response time when using a cell phone is much faster than a email . We have blackberries and PDA’s in the market but they have a long way to go before they can even get closer to competing with a normal cell phone.
I have read articles about people wanting to use blogs as a medium to announce emergencies. Clearly blogs are one of the best ways to express your personal views but it is definitely not the forum for fast communication. After the Virginia incident there is more focus on using SMS (Short Messaging Service) to announce emergencies. MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) is the next step which allows the user to send images and short videos using thier cell phones. Alerts can be sent to all subscribers . This kind of approach is called the “Push” model . Even for software systems it is a preferred setup to send text messages to on call engineers so this is a proven model. When there is an emergency the tendency for anyone is to “Call” not “Send email” so by its very nature cell phones are the best devices for services requiring immediate attention
The cell phone is the one and only “personal device” and I honestly believe there is going to be lot of advancements in this field in the years to come.
