leelai

Leelai (2009) is a forthcoming Tamil film directed by Andrew Louis and produced by Aascar Films. The film stars Shiv Pandit and Manshi Parekh in lead roles. Pandit was the host in the IPL cricket show “Extra Innings” and has appeared in commercials. The film, which is under production since mid-2008, has Satish Chakravarthy as composer of the film’s soundtrack.

I am impressed with Sathish. I think he has great potential and with the right opportunities he can leave a mark in the Tamil music industry.

Jilendru Oru Kalavaram (Satish Chakravarthy)

This is a peppy romantic song. Satish has also sung the song and has done a terrific job. The music arrangements and chorus are pleasant. The lyrics are simple and flow with the song.

Oru Kili Oru Kili(Shreya Ghoshal & Satish Chakravarthy)

This is the best song of the album and I am hoping it will top the charts for a while. Shreya is awesome to say the least with her vocals . Satish has done an equally good job. The tune is addictive and the director definitely deserves appreciation for this quality work.

Ponmalai Pozhudu(Benny Dayal)

Another romantic number sung by the talented Benny Dayal. The tune is rhythmic with an impressive music arrangement. Sathish has penned the lyrics as well.

Unnai Partha Pinbhu (Haricharan & Marrianne)

Haricharan has sung this pathos song with a ot of emotion and heart. Marrianne fills in with an arabic interlude. Violins fill the speakers along with african drums and the song just keeps building on Haricharan’s strong voice.

Bubble Gum(Benny Dayal, Sunitha Sarathy, Suvi & Leon James)

The weakest song of the album. This hip hop song has nothing new to offer.

Oru Kili Oru Kili -Reprise(Satish Chakravarthy)

The pathos version of the song is impressive. Satish has sung his heart out for this song . The lyrics are extremely good from Vaali. The music arrangement is very simple and consists of just stringed instruments.

Satish has the potential to make it to big but he needs a big break to showcase his talent. This album is definitely a perfect launching pad.

A must buy for anyone who likes quality music.

  1. thanks for the review. i got the sound track after reading this review and am really enjoying the music. keep up the good work.

btw, i was jus reminded of the movie ‘ennai theriuma’ which u reviewed few months back. i had no idea about that movie until i read ur reviews. i got the soundtracks and felt that it deserved a better publicity and recognition. i still hear few of the songs from that movie.

i like ur choice of music.

  2. @KD : Thanks. I am glad that we both appreciate good music. Yeah it is unfair that sometimes quality albums go unnoticed as they don’t feature leading actors.
