Naan Aval Adhu – Music Review
Posted by Anandhan Subbiah on Sep 18, 2008 in Featured, Movies, Music • 2 comments‘Naan Aval Adhu’ features four music directors –G.V. Prakash, R.P. Patnaik, Dharan and Prasanna Shekar. ‘Naan Aval Adhu’, a horror thriller, has Madhavan and Sada as the lead actors It also stars Shamitha Shetty. The film is directed by Kona Venkat and produced by Gaurav Sharma for Storm Pictures. This is a remake of the hindi movie Darling directed by Ram Gopal Varma.
Agayam Irangiya(Sunitha Sarathy)
G.V Prakash has performed the music score for this song sung by Sunitha Sarathy. This is a very average song. Sunitha has tried to make this song interesting but unfortunately the song is very flat and offers her very limited scope to perform.
Kadhal Oru Katru ( Shreya Ghosal, Nihal)
R.P. Patnaik from the movie Jeyam has composed this number. Again this is a very average song with a really flat but decent tune Even the magnificent Shreya Ghosal sounds ordinary. Nihal’s voice does not suit this song at all. I think Patnaik is not used to western tunes at all but he has give his best effort. But by comparison this is the best song of the album.
Naan Aval Adhu (Karthik)
The solo version of Kadhal Oru Katru.Karthik sings every song with everything he has got and this song is no exception.
Nee Thooramai Ponalum (Swapna Abraham)
This song is sung by Swapna Abraham.Prasanna Shekhar has composed this song. I just pressed the next button.
Vaa Nila (Mahathi)
Dharan has composed this song.Mahathi a new comer is impressive and does her job to perfection. This song is no different than the other songs and just passes muster.
Overall this album is disappointing and sounds very old .Madhavan needs a really good music score to kick start his movies but all the 4 music directors have failed him. Hopefully the movie does not disappoint.

Vaa nila is not by Dharan. Its by GVP (have confirmed this with GVP himself!) – he has 2 songs in this album. Dharan has composed a promotional song for this film which has not been included in the soundtrack.
Karthik : Thanks for the info
