The original Tamil version of the movie was a blockbuster hit and the songs composed by Harris Jayaraj were good but not mind blowing in anyway. Aamir and Rehman are back together in this Hindi remake.

Guzarish(Javed Ali)
Javed Ali seems to be the next Hariharan for Rehman. He is featured in every other album. The singer is absolutely terrific and sings his heart out in this song. The song is already making waves in the promos.

Bekha(Karthik)
Karthik is a surprise choice for this peppy song. Karthik is famous in the Tamil industry but he is new in Hindi cinema. It will be fair to say he has done a commendable job. Rehman as usual has experimented with instrumentation. There is a passage in the song influenced by punk rock. Overall it is a good song.

Latoo(Shreya Ghosal)
It has been a while since I’ve heard Shreya Ghosal in a fast paced song . My favorite singer has proved that she is very comfortable with fast songs as well. The song starts off at a brisk pace and slowly moves into Spanish territory. Rehman is the king of these kind of masterful compositions and he has proved yet again that he is the best.

Kaise Muje(Benny Dayal , Shreya Ghosal)
I thought I was listening to Yuvvaraj for a bit. This is an excellent song sung by the talented Benny and Shreya. The song is high pitched from the beginning to end and the controlled rendition by both singers makes this decent melody sound awesome. Rehman as usual pitches in with the right mix to keep the audience entertained. I would assume that this is the main song for Aamir and Asin. This is the best song of the album if you don’t compare it with “Dil Ka Rishta” from Yuuvraj.

Kaise Muje(Instrumental)
The slow and instrumental version of the previous song. The piano is mesmerizing as with any Rehman composition. This must be the sad version of the duet after the tragedy

Aye Bachu(Suzanne)
I have heard this song before but it does not really matter as this song is awesome.Suzanne rocks with her amazing vocals with the rhythmic heavy metal piece giving her company. A full throated rendition is the order of the day and Suzanne fits the bill perfectly.

Overall this is a refreshing problem and worth the buy. Rehman’s song will grow on you and I am already impressed so I am hopeful these songs will be chart busters depending on the movie goes.

very good start for Murugdoss in Hindi atleast on the music front. We will have to wait for the movie but if it is anywhere closer to the Tamil version it is sure to be a big hit.

It is a double treat for Rehman fans with Ada and Jaane Tu Mera Kya Hai . Genelia from boys fame makes her entry into Bollywood. This should be the ideal launchpad for the talented actress . Aamir Khan must still be learning the power of the internet and how stupid he might appear( with his remarks about the king khan) if he is not careful but he needs no lesson to pick the best music talent to promote his nephew. This is a typical Rehman album where the listener is treated to a wide array of emotions.Rehman keeps it very simple and does not complicate things like he has done in Ada.

Jaane Tu Mera Kya Hai (Runa)

The best song of the album. Runa must be the find of 2008. She has a haunting voice and reminds me of my favorite singer Shreya Ghosal. Runa conveys the emotions precisely and just carries the song on her shoulders. The song has an amazing tune that it is impossible to not like it.It starts off at a fast pace and slowly transcends into a haunting melody. The song is about a girl who misses her boy friend and Runa brings the pain straight into your living room with her emotional rendition.

Jaane Tu Mera Kya Hai (Sukhwinder Singh)

The male version of the title song. Sukhwinder Singh sings this more melodramatic version. Sukhwinder is able to convey the pain and agony very easily in his trademark style. This song is more slower than the female version.

Papu can’t dance ( Various Artists)

A racy song which is featured in all the promotions. This is supposed to be a spoof on Salman Khan. It is highly entertaining and has a wonderful Rhythm to it. This is about a rich guy who has everything but cannot dance.

Papu can’t dance ( Remix)

Heavy beats and rap interludes make this Remix of the previous song.

Tu bola Main Bollon (Rehman)

A 100% original Jazz song sung by the maestro himself. The saxophone piece in the end is sure to impress any jazz fan.Rehman has the penchant for jazz music and this song is more than ample proof to prove that.

Kahin Ho (Rashid Ali and Vasundhra Das)

A beautiful song sung by the talented Rashid Ali is the second best song of the album. If you are a fan of Michael Learns to Rock then this is your song. A smooth song straight from the music text book of Rehman. The music just flows in perfect symphony with the singers.Rashid Ali has such a soulful voice and he uses the masterful tune of Rehman to the fullest extent. This is another impressive song. I would rate it as highly as the female version of ‘Jaane Tu ’sung by Runa. This could be “THE” song of 2008.

Kabhie Kabhie (Rashid Ali)

Rashid Ali is on a roll and he sounds better in every song. This is Rehman at his best , listen to the guitar and the flute create magic which is sure to thrill any music fan. The song again just flows in one direction and the orchestration is as smooth as Rashid’s voice.

Nazarien Milanna (Benny Dayal, Satish Chakravarthy, Naresh Iyer, Darshana, Shwetha, Tanvi, Bhargavi, Anupama)

This song is another Rehman master piece. The guitar seems to be the order of the day in this album. There is also a nice heavy metal piece. This album is a must buy and is sure to be a hit with the masses.

Rehman Rocks ! .
