Boss Engira Bhaskaran (English: Boss alias Bhaskaran) is a 2010 Indian Tamil romantic comedy film written and directed by M. Rajesh of Siva Manasula Sakthi fame, starring Arya, Nayantara and comedian Santhanam in lead roles. The film, which is produced by K. S. Sreenivasan’s Vasan Visual Ventures, scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and filmed by Sakthi Saravanan, released on 10 September 2010 to very positive responses, with particularly the film’s comedy portions being lauded.

Ada.. Boss..Boss..(Satyan)
A fun song with free flowing music and lyrics. The percussion arrangements add to the fun factor. Satyan fits the bill perfectly for this song. This should most likely be the introduction song for the main character in the movie.

Yaar Indha Pennthan…(Haricharan)
The best song of the album and it is mesmerizing to say the least. Haricharan cannot do anything wrong when Yuvan is at the helm. Only Yuvan can deliver such a wonderful melody which is actually very heavy on bass, just listen to violin in the background when the pitch gets high. The lyrics by Muthukumar are also soothing .The rhythm has been programmed beautifully. There is so much scope in this song to create stunning visuals.

Thatthi Thaavum…(Karthik)
We can call this TamilHipHop ! Karthik is flawless and sings with enough energy to keep the song flowing. Jazz interludes are mixed with the Hip hop beats creating an exotic mix. Don’t fault me for thinking that this song reminds me of the Ghajini Song !

Ayile Ayile(Vijay Prakash)
A really cool song . Vijay has done a wonderful job behind the mike. The enthusiasm of the singer literally actually rubs on the audience. if the choreography is as good as the song then this song is sure to stay in the charts for a bit.

Mama… Mama…(Vijay Yesudas, Swetha)
This song takes us back in the memory lane to the good old Illayaraja days. Yuvan has still maintained his style with his trademark beats.Vijay Yesudas is a surprise pick for a fast paced song but he has done justice to his selection with an admirable performance.

A cool album !

Produced by Ayngaran International
Written by Vishnuvardhan
Starring
Arya
Trisha Krishnan
J. D. Chakravarthy
Indrajith
Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja
Cinematography Nirav Shah
Distributed by Ayngaran International

Yuvan Shankar Raja is on a roll with his third straight hit with Sarvam. The music director does a fabulous job when is not caught up with creating music for hero dominated movies with little room for creativity. Yuvan is at his best when is allowed to do what he is good at , which is creating quality music. Sarvam is a highly stylish western album.

Adada Vaa (Ilayaraaja)
The music director has been clearly inspired by a famous western song but to his credit he has made it its own. The prodigy’s father Illayaraja has sung the song . The awesome orchestration and the terrific flute along with the strong rhythm steals the show. This song is very similar to the remix hit from the directors previous movie with Arya.Illayaraja has truly enjoyed crooning for this song. I will be very surprised if this song does not rule the charts for a long time. The pubs will have a field day with this song.

Neethane(Yuvan Shankar Raja)
A soothing melody sung by the music director himself. The lyricist Pa. Vijay is very prominent in this song. The violin is as usual is the instrument of choice and Yuvan has used it to good effect. The keyboard is used to convey the soft notes. The singer has also been able to convey the right emotion with his rendition.

Sutta Suriyanae(Vijay Yesudas)
Vijay Yesudas sings this high pitched song with ease. Yuvan seems to have put in a lot of effort with the orchestration and it is very evident in every song. A fast paced song , this piece is very inspirational.Don’t miss the nice mix of the yesteryear classic Megam Karukuthu.

Kaatrukulle (Yuvan Shankar Raja)
Another haunting melody sung by the music director himself. The song is unique with rain drops as the background. The lyrics are again classy. The dazzling use of the violin and the guitar is the highlight of this sing. The tune is also unique and appeals instantly.

Siragugal (Javed Ali, Madhushree)
A terrific romantic ballet belted by the awesome Javed Ali and Madhusree. It is impossible to not like this soft song. There is a nice rhythm to the song.Javed Ali has to improve his language skills but makes it up with the right emotions and his natural ability. Madushree is very much a clone of Sadhana Sargam and a good one at that.

Theme Music (Instrumental)
A Spanish guitar piece starts off this song and slowly transforms to heavy metal music . The Spanish piece is clearly inspired from the title music of the movie Desperado. Yuvan deserves the credit for the innovation and his ability to fuse different genre’s of music.

A clean performance by Yuvan , this album will be a sure hit amongst the young Tamil population across the globe. A must buy !

Naan Kadavul (English: I am God) is due to be released on Pongal 2009. Directed by Bala, Arya and Pooja Umashankar play the lead roles.

This film features 6 songs composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The audio was released on 1st of January 2009. Lyrics have been penned by Vaali except for the track Pitchai paathiram which has been penned by Ilayaraja himself.

Om Sivoham – Vijay Prakash
Kannil paarvai – Shreya Ghoshal
Matha un kovilil – Madhumitha
Amma un pillai naan – Sadhana Sargam
Oru kaatril alaiyum – Ilayaraja
Pitchai paathiram – Madhu Balakrishnan

This film’s tagline ‘Aham Brahmaasmi’ ( an upanishadic line) says it all—the search for God inside you.

There is no doubt that all the songs are based on the situation. This album is not commercial at all and will appeal only to serious music enthusiasts.

Om Sivoham…Vocals: Vijay Prakash.Lyrics: Vaali.
A strictly devotional song sung beautifully by Vijay Prakash. This should be the title song of the movie. Even if you are an atheist this song will appeal to you. Try listening to the song and it will help calm you down. The song is about the God Shiva and how powerful and destructive he can be. I am a little concerned that God can be destructive ! but it did not stop me from enjoying the song with the excellent Tabla work and terrific rendition of Vijay.

Kannil Paarvai…Vocals: Shreya Ghosal.Lyrics: Vaali.
My favorite singer Shreya Ghosal is back with another terrific song. This song reminds me of a hit from Pithamagan. Shreya as usual is sincere to the core.Illayaraja’s plays magic with the violin as usual.Shreya struggles with the lyrics at high pitch but you can’t really fault her as Tamil is not her first language and she is still able to sing so beautifully.

Madha un…Vocals: Madhumita.Lyrics: Vaali.
This is a really short bit song more like a prelude to the next song.

Amma Un Pillai…Vocals: Sadhana Sargam.Lyrics: Vaali.
Another pathos song sung so perfectly by Sadhana Sargam. The tabla and the drums and the mesmerizing use of the violin sets the ambiance for the song. This is yet another haunting melody by the maestro.

Picchaippaatthiram…Vocals: Madhu Balakrishnan.Lyrics: Ilayaraja.
Another fascinating song sung by Madhu Balakrishnan. This is about an anguished soul begging for the Almighty’s blessing. Illayaraja has penned the lyrics by himself. The tabla plays magic as usual with a nice rhythm to it.

Oru Kaatril…Vocals: Ilayaraja.Lyrics: Vaali.
A rehash of the Kannil Paarvai song sung by Shreya. It is very difficult to compare the two songs except for the fact the hold of the language plays a pivotal role to the success of a song.

A must have if you are a Illayaraja or a fan of serious music.
