Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (English: Thoughts of You All Day) is an upcoming romantic film directed by Elred Kumar starring Adharvaa and Amala Paul in the lead roles. Music scored by G. V. Prakash Kumar.

Kangal Neeyae (Sithara)
Sithara has a heavy voice and is a unique choice for this song. There is a heavy mix of carnatic and hindustani tunes but the good news is you will be able to enjoy the song !

Mazhai Pozhiyum (Aalap Raju, G. V. Prakash Kumar, Megha)
This is a breezy song sung by the talented Aalap Raju with ample support from G.V Prakash and Megha. There is definitely a nice rhythm with matching guitars which suits the mood of the song. The vocals somehow overwhelm the background score when the exact opposite would have suited this song better.

Oh Sunandha (Raman Mahadevan, Caroline)
The song starts with a Arabic backdrop and slowly transforms into a nice melody. Again the Rhythm is very good and Raman Mahadevan does a admirable job crooning to the beats. Caroline does her part as well and reminds me of Andrea. The music director has definitely worked hard on the orchestration but something seems to be missing in this song, in specific for this genre. I really think the song would have been more interesting if he had chosen more richer instruments.

Oru Murai(G. V. Prakash Kumar, Blaaze, Andrea Jeremiah)
Heavily synthesized music welcomes the audience to this R&B song. Thamari’s lyrics increase the market value for the song. Blaaze makes his presence felt while Andrea seems to be underused for the most part.

Sokku Podi(Baba Sehgal, Shruti Haasan)
This fast paced song has Babha Seghal and Shruthi Hassan crooning to some decent beats. The song is not all that impressive and I am not even sure Shruti was the best fit for this song

Yaar Aval Yaro(Mohammed Irfan)
This is one of the best songs of the album . Mohammed is a interesting choice for the song , he seems to be filling the role of Haricharan does for Yuvan. I can see shades of Oru Kal oru Kannadi in this sing. Even though this may technically be called a rock cum pathos song I was really not thrilled with the constant change in tempo of the song as it is definitely jarring and annoying to say the least. Irfan’s rendition of the song actually makes it one of the best songs of the album.

This is definitely a decent album by the talented music director . I just felt that the background score is not all that smooth and seems jarring at times. The Young composer can definitely working on that aspect of his music. That said the album is still a must buy !

Mayakkam Enna is an upcoming Tamil romantic drama film directed by Selvaraghavan. It stars his brother Dhanush, along with Richa Gangopadhyay, and features music scored by G. V. Prakash Kumar while the cinematography is handled by Ramji. The film, which is produced and distributed by Gemini Film Circuit, is currently in its production stage and is expected to release in October 2011. The expectations were quite high for this movie.

Ennena Seidhom Ingu(Harish Raghavendra)
This is a surprise package from the young music director. Harish renders this wonderful composition with ease. The tune is actually more devotional than commercial but I don’t think anyone will complain.

Kadhal En Kadhal(Dhanush,Selvargahavan)
This is a a mediocre song at best and credit should be given to G.V Prakash for trying to make this into something meaningful. It will also be fair to say that Dhanush has done a commendable job of what he has been asked to do as a singer.

Mayakkam Enna Theme..(G.V. Prakash)
The true skill of the music director is evident in this theme music. I am sure selvaraghavan must have spent a lot of time with G.V to get this right. The synthesized music in the end is a spoiler but otherwise this theme songs is one of the best songs in the album.

Naan Sonnadhum Mazhaivandhucha… (Naresh Iyer)
G.V Prakash does a Yuvan with a high pitched & breezy tune and Naresh definitely seems to be up for it. The background music could have been streamlined better , something Yuvan has mastered over the years. This song is still one of the better compositions and worth a listen

Pirai Thedum(Saindhavi & GV Prakash)
This is the pick of the album even though it reminds me of the singers hit from his previous album with Vikram. Saindhvai has a beautiful voice and she has delivered a master piece with G.V. Again the background music is still a little too jarring for my comfort and could have been a bit more smooth. Na Muthukumar has produced some wonderful lyrics.

Voda Voda Dhooram Korayala…(Dhanush)
This is another conversational piece and the focus is more on the fun factor than anything else.

This may not be one of the best albums from G.V but as with all Selvaraghavan films the songs typically fits the mood of the movie and this shouldn’t be any different. I think my biggest concern is around the odd lyrics which are more conversational than anything. I guess the team would have been better off if they allowed the professionals lyricists to do thier jobs. Also the music director is known for his subdued and smooth background score which brings the singers to the forefront , but in this album he has definitely tried to change it but I am not convinced that it is a good move. I would still buy the album as it still has all the ingredients to make it big.

Deiva Thirumagan (Tamil: தெய்வத்திருமகன், English: Son of God) is a forthcoming 2011 Indian Tamil drama film written and directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Mohan Natarajan and a remake of the American film ‘I Am Sam’, a Sean Penn and Dakotta Fanning starrer. The film features Vikram in the lead role as a mentally challenged adult with the maturity of a five-year-old boy, while Anushka Shetty, Amala Paul and Nassar portray other pivotal roles. The film comprises director Vijay’s ‘regular’ technical crew with G. V. Prakash Kumar as music composer, Nirav Shah as cinematographer and Anthony as editor.

The film completed its schedules at a brisk pace and only announced the title of the project at the first press conference in April 2011. The teaser trailer of the project was released at the conference and has won critical acclaim, whilst the film is expected to release on May 13, 2011.

Kadhai Solla Poraen (Vikram, Shringa S)
This is obviously a situation song and will find its audience amongst the kids.

Vizhigalil Oru Vanavil (Saindhavi)
A special song sung by the music directors favorite artist, this wonderful melody is mesmerizing to say the least .Na Muthukumar has penned the lyrics and it only adds more value to this soft and sensual song. It will only be fair to say that Saindhavi’s voice is just about perfect for this haunting piece. It takes a lot of talent to maintain the pace with a slow song like this but Prakash has excelled beyond my expectations with ample support from Saindhavi.

Pa..Pa..Pa (Vikram)
Another situational song which exhibits a lot of happiness and positive energy , this will be a hit with Vikram’s fans.

Vennilave (G V Prakash Kumar)
Even though the song reminds me of the Anbae sivam title song Prakash has made it his own with a wonderful ambiance to the entire song. The husky voice of the music director fits the mood of the song perfectly and this is yet another clean melody in the album.

Jagada Thom(S P Balasubramaniam, Maya, Rajesh)
SPB’s powerful voice is this songs forte. Prakash has used a lot of powerful instruments to reflect the never say die attitude of the lead character in the film.

Aarariro (Haricharan)
This is one the best songs I have heard in a while by a long distance. The song will mean a lot to parents and a lot more to dads with daughters. Haricharan can easily claim that this is one of the best songs he has performed so far. The Flute and the Thabla provide ample support to this wonderful melody which never deviates from the core focus of being simple and strikingly powerful in conveying the emotional binding between a dad and his daughter . I don’t think Na. Muthukumar will ever be able to describe the relationship between a father and daughter any better than he has done with the lyrics of this song. This is one of those rare songs which will easily feature in any playlist without a lot of fuss.

Life is Beautiful
Prakash has used the flute to full effect and the result is pure magic.

Verdict : Another successful album from the young music director. It will be one of the top albums of 2011.

Aayirathil Oruvan is a forthcoming 2009 Tamil film directed by Selvaraghavan and produced by R.Ravendran .Karthik Sivakumar and Reema Sen have been cast in lead roles while R. Parthiban acts in a guest role as does Andrea Jeremiah. The story and screenplay are penned by the director himself. The background score and soundtrack will be composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, who has replaced Yuvan Shankar Raja in the midst of the film.

Maalai Neram( Andrea Jeremiah & G.V. Prakash Kumar)
A terrific melody sung by Andrea and the music director himself. Andrea is the surprise package and she has done a commendable job . She does not seem to be overwhelmed while hitting the high notes.

Celebration of Life(Naveen)
A decent composition with interesting choice of instruments. It is nowhere near the best instrumental pieces in Indian cinema but it is definitely unique. The flute is at the forefront as is the case with most of Naveen’s compositions.

Thaai Tinra Mannae(Vijay Yesudass)
A lengthy song sung by the talented Vijay Yesudass. G.V Prakash has tried his mettle at classical music and it would be fair to say he that has made a decent attempt at it. The song is more situational describing the descent of the chola empire. Vijay is able to infuse the feeling of pathos into the song.

Indha Paadhai(G.V Prakash)
A casual song sung by the G.V Prakash. The song has a more country feel to it. It is very difficult to associate with this song as there is no catchy tune or rhythm.

Oh Eesa – Club Mix( Karthik, Andrea Jeremiah & chorus)
A song with a nice rhythm but that’s about it. I was not impressed even though it is better than the composers mix.

Oh Eesa – Composers Mix( Karthik, Andrea Jeremiah & chorus)
A song with a nice rhythm but that’s about it.

Un Mela Aasadhaan(Dhanush, Andrea Jeremiah, Aishwarya Dhanush)
The song reminds me of the Adada song from Sarvam. Now we have to figure out the original source !. Dhanush has done a decent job but I guess singing is not his forte.Overall the song is interesting and does have a unique flavor to it.

The King Arrives(Performed by Neil Mukherjee and Madras Augustin Choir)
A powerful composition. I still feel there is a lack of punch. The heavy metal piece is definitely a cool idea.

Thaai Tinra Mannae(Vijay Yesudoss, Nityashree Mahadevan, Shri Krishna)
A complex song sung by the very talented Vijay and Nityashree. A medieval piece tuned to perfection by the composer , this song is a milestone for the young composer. It takes guts to take a chance with a song with a lot of emphasis on communicating reality versus succumbing to pressure to please the masses.

Pemmane(P.B. Srinivas, Bombay Jayashree)
The song starts with powerful violin interludes. The song depicts the misrery of people being forced to relocate from their homeland a.l.a the Srilankan Tamils or the Pakistani refugees in swat valley. The veteran singer Srinivas and Jayshree have been very true to the song and are able to project the pain and suffering to the fullest extent.

It is mixed album for me. I was not all that thrilled but there are moments of brilliance. The visuals might change the perception completely so we will have to wait for the movie.

G.V Prakash , the young music director has got the biggest opportunity of his really short but successful career. It is not an easy task to be the music director of one of Indian cinemas most popular actor. It will be extremely unfair to compare the music of Sivaji with Kuselan. Rehman is one reason not to make that comparison but there is also Shankar. I am sure there must have been a nice feedback loop between Rehman and Shankar to enhance each and every song. I don’t think Prakash had the same quality crew as Sivaji but the young man has tried his best in the unenviable task of scoring the music for a Rajinikanth movie after the magnum opus hit Sivaji.

Chaaral (Shreya Ghosal)
My favorite singer has delivered yet another impressive performance even though this is an average song which passes muster. The orchestration and Shreya’s voice are the only saving grace for this song. It is definitely not a bad song but if this were not to be a Rajini movie this song would have gone unnoticed.

Cinema Cinema ( Shankar Mahadevan)
A mass song and Shankar is the best choice without a hinge of doubt. The song is a typical Rajini song patronizing the hero to the maximum extent possible. G.V Prakash has tried his best to influence the song with the quality of music he is used to and has succeeded reasonably with his attempt. There is a nice Violin interlude in the middle .I know there are lot of people who still don’t understand why Rajini has a phenomenal following considering the fact that he is neither extremely talented as a Sivaji or a Kamal Hassan but I guess that what makes him a legend in his own right . There is always a lot of criticism on how Rajini looks and that he is not a terrific actor . But it will be very difficult for anyone to emulate the success that he has achieved considering the fact that he was a bus conductor with no support when he ventured into films. His ability to appeal to the ordinary man is an achievement which may never be surpassed. Rajini’s story has been a classic fairy tale and he continues to live it. Rajini’s fans will go crazy over this song.

Om Zarare (Daler Mehdni , Sadhana Sargam , Chithra)
Another song patronizing RajiniKanth. This is a nice peppy song with decent rhythmical beats. Daler has joined the list of non-Tamil singers who I believe are on a crusade to kill Tamil. Daler still has that magnetic voice which has won him a huge fan following but his rendition of Tamil makes a mockery of his talent. Sadhana is as usual impressive.

Perinba (Kailash Kher , Prassana)
This is the third song in a row praising the Hero. I do like Rajini but an overdose of anything is never a good thing .Normally these kinds of songs do not gain this much importance but in this movie since Rajini plays himself the patronizing gets a little silly. Kailash seems to be tailor made for this song along with Prassana. The song is actually not that bad and has a very catchy tune. Rajinikanth is a very good human being and a terrific actor when given the opportunity but I don’t think he is any of all the things that this song seems to suggest.

Sollama ( Hariharan,Sujatha)
Finally some sanity prevails with this melodious song. Hariharan and Sujatha deliver this simple song very sincerely which makes for good listening. But I believe that Prakash has failed to use this terrific opportunity to stamp his authority with this song. You can find the music director in the short but impressive piano interlude. It could be that he did not have time or he simply wanted to play it safe. In either case this is the best song in the album if you are interested in quality music and not Rajini the actor.

G.V Prakash has tried his best to satisfy Rajini’s fans and in the process has tried something very different than he is used to. The focus of all his previous albums was to produce quality music but with this album he has had only focus “Rajini” .

It is a good album if you evaulate G.V Prakash as a music director. It is an awesome album if you are a Rajini fan.
